Profile
Ihor Yurchenko, the Deputy Director of Kryzhуnka Junior High School, epitomizes passion and dedication to hockey. His sporting journey commenced at his hometown's "Kryzhynka" under Anatoly Dulin's guidance, but it was far from smooth sailing. Following his service in the Soviet Army, Yurchenko resumed his hockey career, representing ShVSM Kyiv before venturing abroad, where he played for Talleks, Trafford Metros, and Castlereagh Knights.
Returning to Ukraine in the mid-1990s, Yurchenko became a linchpin for Sokil and Berkut, securing numerous championships in the Eastern European Hockey League and the Ukrainian Championship. He also left his mark on the international stage as a member of the national team at the world championships.
Transitioning from player to coach and manager, Yurchenko remained entrenched in the hockey realm, assuming the directorship at "Kryzhynka" from 2005 to 2014. Presently serving as deputy director, he channels his wealth of experience into fostering the development of young talents, shaping a new generation of hockey players at the "Kryzhynka-Capitals" team. His tireless dedication and unwavering love for hockey serve as a beacon, inspiring and motivating youth to scale greater heights.
