Our team had four this game just 11 field players and one goalkeeper. On the other hand, the hosts had more than three fives in the line-up.
Ihor Arkhypenko’s team set the tone for the meeting and Chaika scored the first puck. In the seventh minute, the Pikes capitalized on their first power play opportunity, with Khalin scoring.
This debut goal inspired Dnipro to take the lead as Smerteniuk responded to Valentyna Muryn’s play behind the net, and Makarenko was upset by a second goal from.
The Kherson team conceded two more goals towards the end of the first period, with Khalin scoring a double and Bortnikov was first on the rebound with scoring his puck too.
In the second period, hosts took the lead and managed to score another goal. Derkach, with a brilliant shot, extended his team’s advantage. However, our team tried to get closer to opponent. Dreval managed to find the back of the net after a pass from Zelenskyi, narrowing the gap on the scoreboard. While our team had a strong offensive phase in the second period, they couldn’t find the back of the net for the third time.
However, Dnipro capitalized on the chances. Tsiura intercepted a pass from Halin and scored a goal. The beginning of the third period also started with a puck from Laktionov.
Unfortunately, our team struggled in the final 10 minutes of the game. The opponents seized the opportunity and scored two quick goals, sealing the victory with a final score of 11:2.
As about next plans, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team will face Kremenchuk at home tomorrow, while Dnipro will play against Sokil on Monday.
