Our team faced Capitals in the second match with a newcomer, Marian Ponomarenko. However, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team continued to struggle with personnel issues as the coach couldn`t to gather three fives for the match. It was also notable that goalkeeper Mykyta Petlenko made his first appearance in the starting lineup.

Capitals also faced line-up challenges with Vasyliiev and Koida were out due to illness, and Sekirko sidelined with an injury. Additionally, there were changes in the goalie position as Vilardo temporarily left Ukraine for personal reasons, and Artem Mykhailychenko, formerly of Kryzhynka, joined Capitals.

The visiting team took an early lead with Oliynyk scoring in the third minute. The game progressed rapidly, with Shakhraichuk’s team capitalizing on a power play goal by Liesnikov, and Tyshchenko scoring a brace along with Kryvonozhkin finding the back of the net before the first break.

In the second 20 minutes, the situation remained unchanged as Kyiv Capitals continued to dominate. They managed to score five times, with Kryvonozhkin securing a hat trick, Liesnikov scoring a double, and goals from Karpenko and Panchenko.

Despite this, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team ended their scoreless streak, as Chaika capitalized on Dyachenko’s shot, preventing Boiko from achieving a shutout.

The final 20 minutes saw fewer goals, but guest team still found success with goals from Luhovyi and Lapko, bringing the final tally to 12 goals and securing the Capitals’ most significant victory of the season. This win propelled them to first place with 23 points.

Ihor Arkhypenko’s team will play their next match on Saturday against Storm-Odesa. Capitals, on the other hand, will host Dnipro a day earlier.
