In this match, Oleksandr Bobkin`s team had to play without Stetsiura, Mosiuk, and Abdullaiev. Despite their absence, the team still fielded nearly a full squad, missing only one defender. On the other hand, our team came to Odesa with 16 players.
Notably, Poperezhai made his first appearance of the season for the hosts. Storm seized the lead within the first three minutes, after Sydorenko`s goal.
Within five minutes, Bobkin’s team extended the lead with a powerful shot from Nikonov. However, team from Odesa scored two more times before halftime, courtesy of Revuka and Nikonov’s second goal, scored just 10 seconds before the period ended. This marked Storm-Odessa’s first successful power play of this match.
In the second 20 minutes, the Kyiv team experienced one of the toughest periods of the season. The hosts netted an impressive eight goals, putting significant pressure on Makarenko, who made numerous crucial saves. It’s important to highlight the determination of our goalkeeper, who bravely continued playing despite sustaining an injury midway through the period.
As the game entered its final 20 minutes, Storm added five more goals to their tally against our team. The standout performers for the Odesa team were Sydorenko, who secured a remarkable five goals, and Nikonov, who notched up a four-goal haul.
Both teams will resume action after an international break, with Kryzhynka facing Dnipro on December 18 and Storm-Odesa hosting Kremenchuk a day earlier.
