The hosts entered the match with some key players missing, leading Oleg Shafarenko to make changes in line-up. Four additional hockey players were included in the visiting team’s line-up compared to the previous match in Kremenchuk.

In the third minute of the game, Sokil had a power play opportunity after Dreval was penalized, but they were unable to capitalize on it. As the period progressed, Sokil seized the lead, with Savytskyi setting up Burdakov for a one-on-one opportunity against Makarenko, which Matvii confidently converted.

Early in the second period, the hosts extended their lead by scoring on the power play. Mazur won a face-off and netted a powerful shot off the crossbar. Despite the Sokils’ dominance, Makarenko’s solid performance prevented them from increasing their lead before the end of the period.

However, in the third period, host team scored for the third time. Tolstushko skillfully thwarted the attack, passing the puck to Romashchenko, who then found Denys Zherebko who made good use of his opportunity, scoring confidently for Sokil to convert on the power play for the second time. Romashchenko provided the assist, setting up Kalsin for the fourth goal. The duo of Romashchenko and Denys Zherebko once again combined effectively, with Ruslan registering the third assist and Denys scoring the second goal.

Despite this setback, our team showed resilience and managed to narrow the score margin. Arkhypenko intercepted the puck and fired a shot to the far post where Zelenskyi was positioned, resulting in Yehor scoring the first goal of Kryzhynka for the season.

Nonetheless, Sokil secured their second victory of the season, propelling them to third place with seven points. Meanwhile, Kryzhynka remained in fifth place without any points on the board.

Ihor Arkhypenko’s squad is scheduled to play their next match against Kyiv Capitals on November 18th, while Oleg Shafarenko’s team will face off against Storm-Odesa on Saturday.
