Monday`s match started 40 minutes later due to an air alarm. The reigning champions were better prepared for this break, and in a little more than five minutes, Zakharov scored a hat-trick, giving his team a confident lead. Meanwhile, the nominal hosts received a two-minute penalty for delaying the game due to reviewing the moment with the third dropped puck. However, Sokil failed to capitalize on their first power play opportunity.

Despite this, Oleg Shafarenko’s team increased the advantage before the break, with Borodai managing to score a goal. Towards the end of the first period, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team also had the opportunity to play with a numerical advantage for two minutes. However, the period started with a quick goal by the guests at the beginning of the second 20-minute period, scored during 4×5 game thanks to Denys Zherebeko. Vysotenko then further extended Sokil`s lead by scoring first goal in his new team.

Before the second break, Kryzhynka managed to score another goal. Our team got a power play chance for the second time, and this time it only took 17 seconds to end the attack with Shevchenko’s goal.

In the final period, Sokil scored four more times, with quick goals from Kostromitin and final doubles for Borodai and Vysotenko. During last seconds, Kryzhynka scored second goal, this time when the team was short-handed. His author was Buniak.

With this victory, Oleg Shafarenko’s team secured ninth consecutive win and maintained its` position at the top of the table. Both teams will play their next matches on December 25. Kryzhynka will play against Kyiv Capitals and Sokil will take on Storm-Odesa.
