Ihor Arkhypenko`s team once again faced personnel challenges, which proved to be even more significant compared to their previous match against Kremenchuk. With only two full line-ups available, defender Ihor Fedorenko was forced to play as a forward, and Tymur Leleiko made his debut at the highest level.
On the other hand, Sokil team had a stronger roster than in their previous match against Dnipro, with only one missing defender. Guest team started creating more scoring opportunities from the start. However, Kryzhynka also tried to build the attacks close to Diachenko`s goal.
Midway through the period, Sokil managed to break the deadlock with a well-executed shot from the blue line. Despite continued pressure from the guests, Makarenko’s stellar performance prevented Kryzhynka from more opponents` goals before the end of the first period.
In the second period, Danylo remained solid in goal, but the opposition’s offensive pressure intensified. Goals from Borodai and Sobchenko extended the lead for Oleg Shafarenko’s team, putting Sokil in a more comfortable position.
However, Savytskyi scored to Petlenko`s goal, who changed Makarenko. Tymofii was first to be reached after the Taran throw, joining the scorers of the meeting.
At the start of the third period, Sokil was able to impress the possession of Petlenko for the second time. Cherdak`s pass was completed by Razumov.
After that Savytskyi scored his second puck and made the score 0:7. The point in the meeting was put by Taran with his beautiful goal.
This win helped Sokil to get 62 points and fix itself at the head of the standings. Both opponents will play their next matches with Storm-Odesa. Oleg Shafarenko’s team will play on Saturday, and Ihor Arkhypenko’s team will host the Odesa team on February 27 in Arena Chalette.
